Outfit log: Merry Christmas! (if you celebrate...)

I'm not what you'd call a believer, however there's nothing like spending the holiday with my mom, cozy in front of the fireplace... watching movies, eating chocolate, reading, and listening to countless Christmas carols. 

Occasion: Christmas Eve dinner with the step family

Yesterday we ventured out to my step family's small town for a Christmas Eve feast, and I wore the ensemble above. I love dressing for a theme! The pants are a lovely forest green color, and are seriously the most comfortable skinny denim pants I've tried. They have a higher rise, which is more accommodating of the tuchus, and are nice and stretchy. Annnnd I scored 'em at TJMaxx for a fraction of the price. Booyah!

Outfit log: Sundress... Winterized!

Ohhh yeah you can wear sundresses in Winter even if you don't live somewhere balmy. Just slap a sweater on top and cover up those legs!

This look could have been made warmer with tights and a wool sweater (this one's cotton), however at the time it wasn't cold enough. Also, another tip from Captain Obvious regarding dark roots coverage: slap a headband on it!

Now I'm just feeling slap happy. Also I'm a bit sleep deprived. And in a fantastic mood because:

1. I submitted my grad school application on Sunday. Cross those fingers for me! 
2. I'm seeing my Mom tomorrow! Hooray for freezing ass Christmas in the Midwest! No, but really... holiday time with Mom is really wonderful.
3. My dating life just got better. Fingers crossed on that one too, eh?

Outfit log: Burgundy Cords, 2 Ways

Life has been verrrry exciting and nerve-wracking lately, partly due to the fact that I am in the throes of applying to grad school... once again. The application deadline is looming (Sunday, duhn-duhn-DAAAAA), and I haven't had the wherewithall to post. But! I'm still here. And wearing pants apparently.

Here are two looks that are quite different featuring the same burgundy slim-fitting cords. Or oxblood? That's a really weird name for a color. Do oxes bleed a deeper red than other animals? I don't get it.
